SILVACO, Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Santa Clara, California, is the leading supplier of Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) software, and a major supplier of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software for circuit simulation and design of analog, mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits.

Silvaco's mission is to remain the leading TCAD supplier while becoming the leading EDA supplier delivering best-in-class tools, complete design tool flows, expert technical support and professional services.
History
Silvaco Data Systems was founded in 1984 by Dr. Ivan Pesic. The initial product, UTMOST, quickly became the industry standard for parameter extraction, device characterization and modeling.
In 1985 Silvaco entered the SPICE circuit simulation market with SmartSpice.
In 1987 Silvaco entered into the technology computer aided design (TCAD) market. By 1992 Silvaco became the dominant TCAD supplier with the ATHENA process simulator and ATLAS device simulator.
In 1997 Silvaco entered the analog IC CAD market with a suite of EDA tools for schematic capture, layout, and physical verification (DRC, LVS and LPE).
In 2004, Silvaco spun out its EDA product lines as a seperate company, Simucad Design Automation. This allowed Silvaco to focus exclusively on TCAD and maintain worldwide leadership.
In 2009 Silvaco Data Systems was merged with Simucad Design Automation and then Simucad Design Automation on March 1st, 2010, was renamed Silvaco Inc., a Delaware corporation ready for IPO.
Future
The company is planning an IPO in the near future. Silvaco possesses all the strengths to become a successful public company: people, products, worldwide distribution channels, and an established and loyal customer base.

Silvaco has a solid core team of industry-experienced professionals, most with advanced engineering degrees (MS, PhD) in the key technology disciplines of electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and physics.

Silvaco maintains domestic sales and support offices in Boston MA, Austin TX, Phoenix AZ, and Santa Clara CA, and international sales and support offices in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. Silvaco employs local distributors in China, India and Malaysia.
